It is a very humble experience to share my work, as I have long wanted people to be more concerned about wildlife conservation. My life has been transformed since I photographed this yellow cardinal. For those times when you don’t want to scare away birds but still want to capture the best portraits, I recommend investing in a zoom lens (telephoto lens). Birds are more likely to trust you if you are calm and relaxed. While many people would visit and leave, I spent hours photographing the birds in one enclosure. What bird photography tips can you offer amateurs? I have always loved great-horned owls so it was a wonderful opportunity to document this species. When I was able to photograph the Eurasian Eagle Owl for the center, I was captivated by its eyes. I have also been blessed with many photographs from the Alabama Wildlife Center that are dear to my heart. That was the moment that I discovered my passion for wildlife. Those moments are priceless and I would not trade them for anything. Only a handful of shots were taken before the squirrel chased it away.
